This week 3rd grade will be blasting off to learn about space! Your child will learn about the Earth's rotation and revolution, moon phases, facts about the sun and other stars. In December, students will research and write an informative research paper on a planet of their choice.
Today your child brought home a Moon Phase Calendar in which they are expected to observe and document the phase of the moon nightly. This will be an at home project that your child will need help with. If you can not observe the moon due to weather, you can log on to http://www.moongiant.com/calendar/ . This site will list the phases of the moon for the entire month of November. Students can also use this site as a resource to check their work. Moon Calendars are due back Monday, November 26th.
