Make sure you have enough wonderful books for your child to last them the summer! Every dollar you spend gets put back into the 3rd grade classrooms. We use the points to buy Read Aloud and book club books.

Poetry and Punch This Week

Dear family,

Please have your child practice individual, partner and class poems this week at home. Your child should read with expression and fluency as well as use hand gestures to act out his/her poem. We are looking forward to celebrating this fun filled event with you. Each class will have a special performance and you are welcome to invite grandparents and close family members. If your child is in school, please do not pull him/her from class, but siblings that are at home with you are welcome to join. The Poetry Presentations will start at 2:00 in the presentation (stage) area located in the IMC. You are welcome to join the class for cookies and punch after the poetry.

Egypt Projects: Please Pick Up

The children worked hard on their Egypt projects. Please pick them up by Thursday, because the IMC needs the space for Opp. day. You can pick them up before (between 8:00-8:55) or after school (before 4:00).

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

EVERY night your child should be practicing their POEMS for Poetry and Punch!  Please encourage him/her to speak S-L-O-W , C-L-E-A-R, and use EXPRESSION!  Our performance is next week!  Thank you for the support at home! Please don't forget to RSVP to your classroom teacher so we can get a head count on cookies and punch.

Recorders Wed. and Thurs.

Please make sure your child brings his/her recorder this Wed. for our spring concert practice. Your child should also bring his/her recorder on Thursday for our spring concert. Please make sure your child dresses his/her best!

Walking Tours this week!

Please make sure your child wears gym shoes & brings a cold lunch & drink. If your child needs to order a bag lunch, please let your child's teacher know asap. Last, your child can bring a water bottle but the bottle should be labeled and will be left outside the Kuhefuss House so water does not get on the museum items.

Poetry and Punch

Third grade will perform Poetry and Punch at the end of this month. Please help your child practice his/her poems and class poems over the next couple weeks! Your child should memorize his/her poem and recite his/her poem with fluency, expression and include hand gestures. On the day of Poetry and Punch, your child should dress in his/her spring attire. Dress rehearsal is from 9-10 am. that morning. Please avoid appointments during this time. The event will start at 2:00 in the presentation room. After poetry performances, you are invited to enjoy punch and cookies with our third grade poets!

MAP testing

Third grade will be MAP testing again this week. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast. Your child should also bring a healthy snack. This will be the last MAP test of the year. Also, please encourage your child to take his/her time and do his/her best!
