Milwaukee Public Museum Trip

Just a friendly reminder the Milwaukee Public Museum trip will be on Tuesday, March 6th. Please make sure your child is on time for school.  We will leave promptly at 9:00 and will return towards the end of the day. Please also pack a DISPOSABLE (no coolers/ice packs) lunch with a drink. Last, please have your child wear good walking shoes. Thanks!

Multiplication Ice Cream Incentive


We have started our multiplication unit!  By the end of the year, your child should know their multiplication facts up to 10.  For each fact family they learn, they can earn goodies to eat at the party. The goal is to learn facts 0-10 by the end of May. If you prefer your child does NOT participate in this incentive, please contact your child’s teacher to let them know.
Your child will keep an updated list of the facts they have passed and ones they should continue learn.
0-1 facts:     Earn the bowl                                 
2-3 facts:   Earn the spoon                               
4-5 facts:   Earn one scoop of ice cream            
6-7 facts:   Earn candy topping
  8-9   facts:   Earn second scoop/ or another candy topping
    10  facts:   Earn whipped cream or topping

Egypt Projects


Your child just received the Egypt project informational packet on the school and at home (optional artifact). At school, your child will be required to do a Google Presentation or Story Board (presentation part). Your child can create an OPTIONAL artifact (an object that goes along with his/her presentation). Please have your child complete their projects by Monday, March 12th. Your child can also take out books from the local library to help with his/her project.

Read Across America


Join us on Friday, March 2 for our Read Across America celebration. Come to Parkview Elementary School and read to a small group of students. You can bring your own books or borrow some from the IMC. Just come in and READ to a child! Read Across America sign up form.

*If you choose more than one please communicate that with the homeroom teacher.

Valentine's Day is Wednesday!




Our third grade rooms will be having a Valentine’s Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 14th at the end of the day. Your child is allowed to bring Valentine’s cards for each child. The teachers are optional and so are student Valentine’s cards! If your child decides to make Valentine’s cards, please send one for all of the students.

Your teacher should have sent you a list of all the student's names. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions!

Cursive Books

Night Of Fame May 24th


Save the date! Parkview’s Night of Fame will be held at Cedar Creek Park on the evening of Thursday, May 24. Each grade level will perform during the evening, showcasing highlights from our spring concerts and our Artist in Residence drumming. More details will follow soon.

Milw. Public Museum- March 6th

​March 6th- Field trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum (permission slip will come home soon). Please mark your calendar, so you do not make appointments etc. This is an exciting trip for your child to learn more about mummies, attend the planetarium, and explore the wonderful museum.

BOOK ORDERS DUE ON FRIDAY!!

Encouraging reading is one of the most important things we can do to help your child succeed. It can be tough finding the right books to keep them interested, which is why we are so excited that our classes will be participating in Scholastic Reading Club this school year. We will send home the catalogs to browse. Follow the directions below on how to order.  ALL orders must be done online! You can select the titles you would like and you MUST PAY online as well. We will not accept any checks (they will be sent back to you).
3rd grade activation code: NCQNC

The code is used for ALL 3 third grades. It is under Mrs. Moldenhauer’s class so we can earn more points for FREE book club books etc.


Book Orders are due Friday, February 9th by 3:30pm

Here is how to order books:
  • ENTER the one-time Class Activation Code NCQNC
  • SHOP from a carefully curated selection of the best books and value packs
  • SUBMIT your order and earn FREE Books for our classroom
  • All book orders will be shipped to our classroom so we can celebrate the joy of reading together!
We will then submit on the due date and hand all the books out when we receive them!

Sports Party- Mon. Feb. 6th

It’s a Sports Party!
Congratulations! You have reached your goal of reading at least 300 reading & 100 math minutes during the month of January. The third grade will be having our reading/math celebration on Monday, February 5th.
The theme for our reading/math celebration will be sports. You can wear your favorite team apparel and/or bring a hat to school on Monday. The hat can only be worn during our celebration.
*During the month of Feb., remember your reading min. will increase to 20 min. per night. You should also study your multiplication facts!
