Parkview's Not-So-Spooky Trail!!!

Third Grade Parents are the best!!!  Thank you to our parents that helped with their time and creativity.  Our Not-So-Spooky Trail was decorated with a "Game Board" theme this year.  Ours was Monopoly!  Wow-what a terrific job they did!  Also, thank you to our parents that volunteered and came to support our Spooktacular this year.  The Spooktacular is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.  It was fun seeing so many of you enjoying the fun!

PHEOC

Third grade scientists conducted experiments using the PHEOC Process and Scientific Method.  We collected data throughout the week comparing the water weight in peeled, unpeeled, and chopped apples.  This data was then graphed and scientists checked to see if their predictions were  correct.

Moon Calendar

This week, the 3rd grade students will be blasting off to learn about space! This is a very exciting and fun unit in Science. Your child will learn about the moon phases, that the sun is a star and study a planet of his/her choice.

Look for your child's moon phase calendar that was sent home either today or Monday. This will be an at home project in which your child will observe the moon each night and write about how the shape (shadow) of the moon changes over time.

Click here for the calendar and the rubric! Remember that if you can't see the moon you can log on to

M&M's and Skittle Graphing

Thanks for your M & M and Skittle donations. Third Grade has been exploring different types of graphing: pictographs, double bar graph, line plots...and eating their data!

Art Smock

Please make sure to have your child bring in an art smock and label it in a Zip Lock bag. It can simply be an old t-shirt and does not have to be anything fancy. They will stay in the bins above the coat hooks along with your child's tennis shoes. Please also remind your child to have gym shoes on P.E. days. Each child should have a pair of gym shoes & socks here if they do not typically wear them on a daily basis. Thanks!
