Encouraging reading is one of the most important things we can do to help your child succeed. It can be tough finding the right books to keep them interested, which is why we are so excited that our classes will be participating in Scholastic Reading Club this school year. We will send home the catalogs to browse. Follow the directions below on how to order.  ALL orders must be done online! You can select the titles you would like and you MUST PAY online as well. We will not accept any checks (they will be sent back to you).
3rd grade activation code: NCQNC

The code is used for ALL 3 third grades. It is under Mrs. Moldenhauer’s class so we can earn more points for FREE book club books etc.

Book Orders are due Friday, May 25th by 3:30pm

Here is how to order books:
  • ENTER the one-time Class Activation Code NCQNC
  • SHOP from a carefully curated selection of the best books and value packs

Poetry Contest

In April, third grade students at Parkview submitted poems to the Wisconsin Humane Society’s: Be Kind to Animals contest. Students created poems and designed posters inspired by animals and spreading kindness.  Hundreds of poems were submitted. We are proud to share that Parkview's very own, Lola, won First Place! A ceremony was held to honor the winners of the contest. Her beautiful creation of a sea turtle and poem is displayed behind her in the picture. Way to go, Lola!

Poetry-n-Punch

Poetry-n-Punch is around the corner!  Please support your child at home by helping them practice the memorization of their poems.  Encourage expression, clarity, pronunciation, and fluency.  Students can also use small props and add gestures and movement to enhance and help with memorization.  They may even want to plan on wearing something that would enhance their performance.  We do want to avoid costume changes during the performance though.  Thank you for your help and support.  We will be dedicating time and practice here at school but any additional practice at home is appreciated.
Dates of Performances:
Wednesday, May 30th- 2:00-3:00  Moldenhauer
Thursday, May 31st- 2:00-3:00  French
Friday, June 1st- 2:00-3:00 Studer

Science Fair and Simple Machines Night

Our 3rd grade students did a terrific job creating their Simple Machines Arcade Games and presenting them to their peers.  Students also shared their creation with the school as grade levels came to play their games in the gym that day.  They were all so proud of their hard work!  Great job!  Thank you parents for your support with this project.  Thanks also to our Parkview families that attended the Science Fair that evening!  Congrats to Ethan  and Julian on their award winning games!
