Winter Bullpup Bonanza-Thursday

Please make sure your child brings to school boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves EVERY day. We will be outside reviewing our PBIS playground rules for play in the snow.  Extra socks and gloves/mittens are always a good idea to keep in hallway bins.  Dry items for the second recess always makes play more enjoyable!  ***Please also remember shoes to change into once you get to school.  If your child does not have shoes at school to change into, they can not participate in gym class.

Recorders are here...

Dear 3rd Grade Parkview Families,

I am pleased to announce that our recorders have arrived!  This is music to your ears I am sure!  :-)
If your child is bringing their own recorder from home, please have them put and keep it in their backpack and bring it with them to music class.  I am asking that students keep their recorders in their backpacks at all times when they are not playing or cleaning them.  Students will not be allowed to play their recorder on the bus or at recess.  Please notify me immediately if your child’s recorder becomes lost or broken so I can issue them a school rental.  Students are encouraged to practice their instrument at home, but it is not a requirement.

Depending on how often your child practices, recorders can be cleaned once a week or every other week.  Avoid cleaning them in the dishwasher as they can sometimes melt.  I clean mine in the sink with warm to hot water, a drop of dish soap, and sometimes a drop of hydrogen peroxide.  Rise well and let air dry.  A cloth towel may also be used to dry the outside.  Please avoid using paper products (Kleenex, paper towel, etc..) to dry the recorder as it leaves paper particles behind that become germ magnets.

Let the fun begin!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Dear Families,
On Thursday, February 14th our class will exchange valentines.
Exchanging valentines is optional and not required. If your child
would like to participate we would like them to make a valentine
card holder and bring it to school on the 14th. There are so many
cute ideas out there...whether it is an old shoe box, tissue box, or
cereal box you would like to use, have your child decorate their
box any way they would like. Below are just a few ideas. We
ask that if you decide to bring individual valentines, all members
of the class are included so friends do not feel left out.
Thank you!
