Concert Location Change
Dear Parents,
Last week we had our first evening winter concert here at Parkview. Due to logistics and space concerns, first grade students were the only performers.
The decision to try evening winter performances this year was in response to parents who have been asking for evening concerts so they can attend without losing work pay or vacation time.
With only first grade in our small gym, we still did not have enough seats for families.
So, change of plans.
On Monday, December 17, the kindergarten and third grade concert will be at 6:30 PM in the Cedarburg High School "Vintage Gym."
On Thursday, December 20, the second and fourth grade concert will be at 6:30 PM in the Cedarburg High School "Vintage Gym."
The vintage gym is located in Cedarburg High School right inside of door #8 on the south side of the building.
There are restrooms just to the left of the gym.
Bleacher seating will hold 600 audience members.
We ask families to reserve the first row for people with limited mobility or strollers.
Students will be on risers in the center of the gym facing the bleachers.
There is ample parking on the south side of CHS near door 8.
Students will assemble along the west side of the gym between 6:00-6:15.
We have the vintage gym reserved from 6:00-8:00.
More detailed instructions will be provided for specific grade levels.
We are hoping that this change of venue will improve the concert experience for students and families.
Thank you for your flexibility and support.

Math Facts
Please remember that during quarter 2, we focus on subtraction facts. Your child should practice his/her math facts using flashcards, games, worksheets or Internet websites. You can always access sites on our 3rd grade BLOG as well as having your child log onto Moby Max (click for link) through our Parkview website. Your child will need his/her username and password that is located in the front of their assignment book.
This is another great site that has FREE games for math and much more:
If you ever find any websites or apps, that would be helpful for other families, please send them to us.
Planet Reports
Last week your child will be picked out a planet for their informational report. Your child will develop questions about the planet to research, learn about how to find facts and turn them into their own words, and create a report and Google presentation about this project. Most of the work will be done at school. You will get a check off list before the winter break of what your child has completed and what your child will need to complete at home (if it was not completed at school). An optional at home project will be to create a 3D representation of the planet. *A rubric and project expectation sheet will be sent home by the end of the month.
Surprise Gift
Surprise Holiday Gifts!
Dear Family,
Third grade students will be busy little elves making Holiday Gifts for the important people in their lives. To help offset the cost of making this gift, we are asking that students bring in $1.25 (cash) by Friday, December 7th. Please turn the money into your child’s teacher, in a sealed & labeled envelope. Please contact your child’s teacher if you need assistance with this payment. We are happy to help!
Happy Holidays !
